The NHSC Loan Repayment Program is now open for applications until May 9, 2024, and has three award options with different eligibilities, award amounts, and service requirements – original, rural, and substance use disorder.

Job Title: Paraprofessional (Bachelor’s Level; Intern) Specialist for Family Services
Location: Hinesville, Savannah, Statesboro, Brunswick, Jesup, Kingsland, and surround areas
Job Description: Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated Support and Education Specialist with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. This vital role supports our mission by providing educational and supportive services to families and children working with the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and Amerigroup. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for children and families, equipped with knowledge and skills to empower and educate the patients we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver educational programs and supportive services to patients in their homes.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and develop supportive plans.
Assist in creating materials and resources for patient education on various topics related to mental and emotional health.
Act as a liaison between patients, families, DFCS, Amerigroup, and additional service providers.
Facilitate group sessions and workshops on skill development, stress management, and other relevant topics.
Provide supportive counseling under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Support patients in understanding and navigating the healthcare system and community resources.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience working with families and children in a supportive role is preferred.
Knowledge of child development, family systems, and community resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally to provide in-home services.
Completed background check required.

Job Description: DBA is seeking a compassionate and skilled In-Home Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing direct, in-home therapy to patients under the care of the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and those associated with Amerigroup. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating individualized treatment plans and delivering therapy within patients’ homes, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the community we serve.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-home therapy sessions with patients, providing a safe and supportive environment for emotional and mental health care.
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans based on each patient’s specific needs and goals.
Maintain thorough and confidential records of therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with DFCS, Amerigroup, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and advocate for the patient's well-being.
Provide testimony in court when required, effectively communicating patient progress and therapeutic insights.
Stay informed of the latest research and developments in therapy practices relevant to family and children services.
Offer crisis intervention services as needed and maintain availability for patient emergencies.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Practicum/ Interns accepted with supervision provided.
Current, valid state licensure in mental health counseling or clinical social work (e.g., APC, LMSW, AMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LP) preferred, and must be completed within six months of hire.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with a diverse patient population.
Proficiency in maintaining comprehensive and compliant clinical documentation.
Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills.
A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel locally to provide in-home patient care.
Completed background check required.
